‘Marriage’, a play by Nikolai Gogol, a Russian dramatist of Ukrainian origin, will be on stage at City Theater every evening through December 18.

Rendered into Persian by Abtin Golkar and directed by Vahid Akhavan, it is an absurdly poetic tale about the business of marriage. A matchmaker takes on the task to marry off Agafy, a 28-year-old woman who has not yet found her perfect match. She promises her hand to someone named Podkolyosin. The matchmaker, however, has a keen eye of profit, sends Agafya several suitors at the same time.

The cast includes Habib Dehqan-Nasab, Kazem Hajir-Azad, Mohammad Sareban, Alireza Darvish-Nejad, Mohammadreza Khademi, Houman Saleki, and Soudabeh Sadeqi among others, Tiwall.com wrote.

City Theater is located at the intersection of Enqelab and Vali-e-Asr streets.
