The Alvares Ski Resort is ready to hold junior ski competitions during this winter, says the director of the resort.

Akbar Abdoli said the resort, located in Ardebil Province in northeast of Iran, at an altitude of 3200 m is the highest ski resort in Iran. Thus the resort has snow even during the summer months and can host skiers throughout the year, MNA reported.

He pointed out that “snow smashing is undertaken daily at the resort,” and added that the route “is always open and there is no problem to reach the resort.”

Abdoli said these capabilities make the resort an ideal place for national competitions and that the upcoming event would test the preparedness of the resort.
