Twelve photographers from Iran are among the winners of the ‘Brooklyn 2017, International Exhibition of Art Photography’, announced November 25 by the website of the event.

The event, organized by the Art Bureau NYC and the Lumière’s Beam Photo Agency, was open to all; however, entries were limited to not more than four images per section including music, street, child, nature, open (color), and open (monochrome). The images were divided through four rounds of judging in each section. In the music photography section, Iranians received two awards: a bronze medal of Photographic Society of America (PSA) for Mehdi Rouhi’s photo ‘Thrill’, and a PSA honorable mention for Ehsan Mortazavi for his photo ‘Conflict 1’, IRNA reported.

‘Shadows’ by Yaser Fattahi (gold medal), ‘Look’ by Negar Agha-Ali-Tari (PSA honorable mention), ‘Satisfaction’ by Mojtaba Safari (diploma), and ‘Conflict’ by Dariush Qanbarnasab (diploma) were the Iranian winning photos in the street photography section.

In child photography section, Iranians were granted two awards, International Association of Art Photographers (IAAP) gold medal went to Yaser Fattahi for his work ‘Hormoz Island Girl’, and silver for the photo ‘Alone’ captured by Sudabe Vatanparast.

Mojtaba Nobakht’s ‘Now’ (PSA silver medal), Abdol-Moeed Maroofi’s ‘The Shepherd’, Mojtaba Safari’s ‘Amber Yellow’ were recipients of a PSA silver medal, PSA honorable mention, and diploma in open (color) photography section respectively.

Iman Yad-Mellat who was granted PSA honorable mention for his photo ‘Chicks’ was the only Iranian among the winners of nature photography section.

The winning shots will go on show on December 15-25 at the Jalopy Theater and School of Music located at 315 Columbia Street, Brooklyn, New York.
