Shiraz Hosting Khayyam Photo Exhibition

Selected works from the fourth edition of Khayyam International Exhibition of Photography are to go on display from November 14 at six galleries in Shiraz, Fars Province. The exhibitions are organized by the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Fars in collaboration with the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), ISNA reported.
Venues showing the photos include Ab Gallery, as well as Jam, Ashena, Aban, Taar-o-Poud and Sarvenaz galleries.
Held in cooperation with Focus Photo Club, affiliated to the cultural institute of Khayyam House of Art, which is the executive arm of FIAP in Iran, the fourth edition of the contest ended in January.
The event is named after Persian polymath and poet Omar Khayyam (1048–1131), who wrote treatises on mechanics, geography, mineralogy, music, climatology and theology and seeks to send a message of peace and friendship from Iranian artists to the comity of nations.
ISNA said the latest edition of the exhibit will accept submissions until December 30. Those interested can visit www.Khayyam.Photo for registration and further information.
