A solo painting exhibit held at Theme Art Gallery in Tehran reflects painter Javad Saba’s views on contemporary humankind and society.

‘Contemporary Human’ is a vivid demonstration of the artist’s preoccupation with human relations and emotions in modern times.

“Who are these contemporary humans and how have they ended up here?” Saba, 42, asks with his paintings, Gallery Info reported. “I look for answers in my paintings.”

“Human beings have always tried to socialize and establish close contacts with their fellow beings. But in the contemporary sense, the effort has had the opposite effect, alienating people from one another,” he said.

The paintings on display show the influence people have had on the artist. “I get inspiration from the people I see everyday … Contemporary humans are lonesome beings. They seem to be missing something.” The paintings have vivid colors and are full of human beings “staring in shock at the world they have created.”

The gallery is located at No. 10, Zebarjad Alley, North Villa St.
