H. Shajarian, Pournazeris Joint Concert in Dec.

Iranian classical vocalist and tonbak player Homayoun Shajarian, and brother composers Tahmoures and Sohrab Pournazeri are to stage a concert at the Ministry of Interior auditorium in central Tehran, December 2-5.
Pournazeris and Shajarian will re-perform pieces from their previous joint albums including ‘Subdued’, ‘Hard Makeup’ and ‘Neither Angel Nor Devil’ along with pieces that have not been performed so far, ISNA reported.
Homayoun Shajarian, son of the great master vocalist of traditional music Mohammad Reza Shajarian, has been following in his father’s footsteps in singing Persian songs but in recent years he has combined traditional and classical elements with modern music to create new melodies and rhythms.
Tickets for the concert are available at www.miresi.ir and www.iranconcert.com from November 12. ‘Delawaz’ and ‘Barana’ music companies are organizing the concert.
