Qajar Newspapers for Sale at Tehran Press Exhibition

Original newspapers and magazines from the Qajar era (1785-1925) are for sale at the ‘Press Treasure’ pavilion affiliated to the Mostazafan Foundation, at the 23rd Tehran Press Exhibition, October 27-November 3.
Based in Tehran, Press Treasure is a museum that collects samples from the first issues of press publications from the Qajar era until now.
Director of the museum, Gholam Hossein Taqavi, told ISNA, “our main objective in participating at this year’s exhibit is to introduce and present old publications including magazines, newspapers, press-related documents and cultural calendars.”
Taqavi recalled that hundreds of newspapers and periodicals were published during the Qajar era. “We also are presenting historical books related to the press and media along with signboards belonging to famous newspapers of the past.”
