‘Orsi Khaneh’ building designed by Iranian group Keivani Architects Studio is among the final nominees for the 10th Middle East Architect Awards, slated for Nov. 22, in Dubai.

The building is a residential apartment block located in Tehran’s Gisha District. It features faceted window frames and stained glass.

The elements of traditional houses in Kashan (a city in Isfahan Province), along with the importance of light, water, plants and frames of Iranian architecture, are incorporated in its design, Mehr News Agency reported.

Keivani Architects was established by two brothers Nima and Sina Keivani in 2009. It has focused on the spiritual dimension of architecture, in which the creation of meaningful, enriched and innovative spaces takes center-stage.

The Middle East Architect Awards recognizes and rewards those individuals and companies that have made a significant contribution to the development of the region’s architecture industry.

It includes categories ranging from the residential project to the best Middle East project of the year and covers sustainable design, apart from selecting the architect of the year.

‘Orsi Khaneh’ was among Iran Architect Award’s finalist and won the international architecture design award at the International A’ Design Award of Italy in 2016.
