Art Dubai, the foremost international art festival in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa, will host its ninth edition from March 18-21, 2015.

An annual event, it presents a versatile and extremely diverse collection of artwork in three different categories: Contemporary, Modern and Marker, according to the festival website.

Among the many prominent artists at the 9th edition will be works by Iranian master Kourosh Shishegaran from Shirin Gallery, (Tehran/New York) in the Modern category; Dastan’s Basement, Tehran in Contemporary, and collages by distinguished photographer Kaveh Golestan, also in the Modern category.

The Contemporary portion of the festival showcases 71 galleries from 35 countries, from the world’s most significant galleries. The galleries feature a wide variety of different art forms including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, video, photography and performance.

The Modern part showcases established 20th century masters of modern art in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa. Each exhibitor puts forward a solo or two per show.

Finally the Marker section focuses on Latin America and its relation to the Arab world and attempts to increase cross-cultural interaction. It is by invitation only.

Taking place at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE, the international Art festival is in partnership with the Abraaj Group, a leading investor founded in 2002 operating in the growth markets of Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
