Innovative rug designer Mir Mola Soraya, 38, is to present his handmade rugs at Khak Art Gallery.
Titled ‘Souf,’ the exhibit revolves around the form and concept of souf or suf (wool in Arabic), a coarse clothing symbolizing austerity and renunciation of worldly pleasures.
‘Souf’ will open on October 13 and will run through October 30. On the following days, the gallery is open from 4-8 pm. Saturdays are off, Honaronline reported.
Soraya is an artist who makes rugs and carpets with unusual modern designs. The upcoming exhibit will show his contemporary approach to Persian rugs that have international acclaim due to their fine texture and weaving.
Khak Art Gallery is located at No. 1, Zhila Alley, Basiri Street, Shariati Street, Qolhak neighborhood.
