Iranian Illustrators Society is holding three parallel exhibitions in Tehran on the occasion of the Illustration National Week in late October.
The society is planning to commemorate the occasion from October 29-November 6. During the period, “we will hold three exhibitions. ‘We Are Illustrators’ will be the main show,” said the scientific secretary of the event, Kianoush Gharibpour, an acclaimed graphic designer.
“This year we are holding the exhibition of ‘Illustrative Auto-Portrait,’ where each participating illustrator will offer a self portrait which will be quite different from those we see by painters,” Gharibpour told IRNA.
Self portraits can be set in a landscape or in a story. They can be up close or farther over a hill. It is for the artists to decide how they illustrate this concept of self.
The two mentioned exhibits will be held at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF). Three artists with outstanding achievements will be introduced during the event and their works will be reviewed.
The third exhibition is ‘Illustration in City’ which will be held in some areas in Tehran featuring a selection of illustration works created in recent years, Gharibpour said.
A number of featured works will be selected for later exhibitions in other cities.
The IAF is located on the southern side of Artists Park on Iranshahr Street.
