‘Founder of Mahak’ a documentary directed by Mohsen Abdolvahab is on screen at three cinemas in Tehran.
The film is about Saeedeh Qods, the founder of Mahak Foundation, a charity that supports cancer kids, Cinematicket.org reported.
When Qods’ two-year-old daughter, Kiana, was diagnosed with cancer, she recalled the pain and suffering of poor kids with similar dangerous diseases who could not receive proper and timely medical help due to financial problems.
The Mahak Hospital and Rehabilitation Complex, a pediatric cancer research and hospital center, was founded in 2003. It offers treatment and rehabilitation to children and supports their families during the treatment phase.
It is the single largest and best-equipped pediatric cancer hospital in Iran and the Middle East offering medical services and a residential center for parents.
The film is being shown at Farhang Cinema, Iranian Artists Forum and Cinema Museum.
