Lalezar Street in the crowded downtown in Tehran has quite a dissimilar face on a non-working day. Zhivar Tour Company has planned a fleeting tour to Lalezar, one of the oldest streets in sprawling capital on October 6.
It is considered a cultural tour in which the guide will talk a bit about the history of the place. Now a major market for electric appliances, both wholesale and retail, Lalezar was once the cultural hub of the capital for numerous cinemas and theaters none of which exist today. Included on the itinerary of the tour are the glorious edifice of Moshirodoleh, Etehadieh Mansion, House of celebrated writer Sadeq Hedayat (1903-1951) and remnants of the once famous Grand Hotel.
The tour starts at 9:30 am near the subway station of Darvazeh-Dowlat, and ends at 1:30 pm. More info is available at the website Zhiwaar.com/tours.
