‘Colonel’, a play written and directed by Iranian playwright, theater director and actor Kheirollah Taqyanipour, is to be performed at City Theater in Tehran. The story is about a 35-year-old ambitious man who struggles to become the governor of Tehran, Tiwall.com reported. The story takes place in Tehran at the time of Mohammad Ali Shah Qajar, the sixth king of Qajar Dynasty who ruled Iran from 1907 to 1909, and opposed the Constitutional Revolution (1905-1911), in the reign of his father Mozaffar ad-Din Shah Qajar.  During the Constitutional Revolution, the first National Consultative Assembly was formed in 1906.  The cast includes celebrated artists such as Hossein Pakdel, Shahram Haghighat-Doust, Mona Farjad, Atabak Naderi, and Sirous Hemati. A total of 20 thespians are performing the play. The main hall of Tehran City Theater is hosting the play. The theater hall is located at Daneshjoo Park, junction of Enqelab St. and Valiasr Ave.  ‘Colonel’ appears on stage on Friday, October 6 and will run through November 5. The 100-minute play starts each evening at 7:30.
