Case of Inanity

The Iranian play ‘The Good Soldier Schweik’, a free adaptation of a book by the same title written by a Czech writer, journalist, humorist and satirist Jaroslav Hasek, is currently being performed at Vahdat Hall in Tehran, Tiwall.com reported.

Directed by Hamidreza Naeemi, the play narrates the story of a man, a dog walker, who is asked to fight in the First World War. The man, who was previously exempted from serving in the army due to his inanity, sets out to prevent the war.

Farhad Aeesh, Amir Hossein Rostami, Mehran Ranjbar, Hamed Komeili, Saleh Lavasani, Mohammad Moshtaqi, and Kataneh Afsharinejad are in the cast.

The play will be on stage until October 9 at the theater located at Ostad Shahriar St., Hafez Ave.
