The Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) in Tehran is hosting a photo collection on rituals of the mourning month of Muharram by the late photojournalist Ali Reza Soltanishad. Soltanishad was among the pioneers of photojournalism in Iran whose expertise was sports and athletics. He passed away on June 1, 2017. In his memory, friends and colleagues gathered 27 of his memorable photos now on display at Spring Gallery of the IAF, according to Iranian Visual Art News Agency (IVANA).
Running through October 3, the exhibit is showing photos on the annual Muharram rituals in several Iranian cities. Visiting hours are 1 to 8 pm. The exhibition is organized by photographer Kavous Sadeqlou and is supported by the Culture Ministry’s office for press affairs.
The IAF is located on the southern flank of Artists Park on Iranshahr Street.
