Cities, architecture and landscapes in Iran have been described in a book recently released in Italy by the publishing house of Manfredi Edizioni.

‘Through Iran: Cities, Architecture, Landscapes’ (In original Italian: Attraverso l’Iran: Citta, Architetture, Paesaggi) has been published in 320 pages including photographs and illustrations, Honaronline reported.

The book is the outcome of trips made across Iran since 2010 by Italian and Iranian academicians.

The research trips were led by the Italian architects Professor Alessandra De Cesaris with expertise in architectural design and theory; professor in Interior Architecture and Exhibition Design Giorgio Di Giorgio; and Laura Valeria Ferretti, faculty member of Sapienza University of Rome.

The three authors have conducted research in Iran in the past. They have released ‘Iran: Cities Caravanserais, Roads (Iran: Citta, Percorsi Caravanserragli) in 2014 in cooperation with Iranian architect Hassan Osanloo specializing in low-cost housing, revitalization and urban planning.

Their trips to Iran were organized as part of an academic exchange program between Italy and Iran. Their description of cities, landscapes and buildings are precise and brilliantly elaborated with graphics, sketches, drawings and photographs.

The photographs present a realistic image of everyday life in Iran. The book could be a useful guide for those who visit Iran for the first time.
