The 15th edition of Urmia Book Fair will be held September 19-25 in West Azarbaijan Province with the participation of 329 publishers from across Iran .
The week-long event is hosted by the Urmia Cultural Center and Library located at the intersection of Bahonar Highway and Sarbazan-Gomnam Street. It contains 152 pavilions in three halls, ISNA reported.
From the host province 21 publishers are attending and 36 publishers are represented in the ‘Centralized Sale’ section.
Programs on the sidelines of the fair include review and critical appraisal sections, book signing, ceremonies for unveiling books, a meeting on folk literature in Turkic books, a workshop on story writing and one for teaching the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) procedure.
Also planned are meetings to discuss the role of mobile libraries and online networks in promoting book reading culture.
