Painter Sara Vasefnia is holding ‘Paradox,’ an exhibition of her reflections on the writings of Italian journalist and author Oriana Fallaci. Fallaci was famed for her star-style interviews and controversial war reports. She reported the wars in Vietnam, Latin America, the Middle East and Indian sub-continent. She distilled her experiences into several bestselling books. “Wounds are deeper for women,” Vasefnia quoted Fallaci as saying. “Joys are momentary, maybe with lasting memories; but suffering runs deep roots, accompanying us everyday.” Thinking of such words, Vasefnia created the paintings; but she sought difference in one notion: “Despite their wounds and troubles, the women in the present collection try to live a peaceful life,” she added, Honaronline reported. Till September 26, ‘Paradox’ is underway at Vali Gallery on Khodami St., Vanak Square.
