The Iranian documentary ‘Poets of Life’ directed by Shirin Barqnavard is currently on screen at the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran. It is about Shirin Parsi, who after receiving a BA in French literature from the University of Paris, returns to Iran and starts helping her in-laws in rice farming, cinematicket.org reported. Her husband’s family strongly promotes organic farming and refrains from using chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Through a poetic narrative of Parsi’s life and concerns, the film follows her efforts to bring about social and environmental change. The 73-minute production won the Special Jury Award at the 14th Green Film Festival in Seoul (GFFIS) in May.
