Iranian architect Elnaz Tehrani and Italian interior and industrial designer and musician Lorenzo Palmeri have curated a lighting design show titled ‘Light On Light Off.’

The two artistic engineers have called a large group of architects, industrial designers and sculptors to create functional lighting objects with copper, Memar News ( reported.

The copper artifacts will be showcased at a group exhibition to be held at Gallery No. 1 of Niavaran Cultural Center located at the northern end of Pasdaran Street, across Niavaran Park.

Participants have been challenged to create elements of lighting design with functional capabilities. The event is an interdisciplinary exhibition of lighting, interior design and sculpture. Also on display will be a number of works by renowned figures such as photographer and conceptual artist Sadeq Tirafkan and painter and sketch artist Farshid Shiva.

The exhibit opens September 8 and will run through September 15. Visiting hours are 5 to 9 pm.

‘Light On Light Off’ is the second edition of OBJET series. Tehrani held the first in October 2015, inviting architects and industrial designers to create innovative seats with interior design values.

Palmeri is a transversal designer who combined music and design in his ‘Paraffina,’ an aluminum guitar that became a favorite instrument of American musician, singer and songwriter Lou Reed (1942-2013).
