Orff Orchestra, led by children’s musician, conductor and author Masoud Nazar, will be on stage September 10-11 at Vahdat Hall in Tehran.
“I will conduct the orchestra and Simin Qadiri, the veteran children’s vocalist will sing,” Nazar told Honaronline.
“The concert has three parts. The first is for the children between 3 and 10, with ‘kitchen’ as the main theme. I composed the poems myself and arranged the pieces. Choir is included,” Nazar said.
“The second part features an orchestra and a choir of children with seven pieces in repertoire,” he said.
The final part is dedicated to the memory of Touran Mirhadi (1927-2016), an educator, author and researcher in pedagogy. An orchestra of 200 musicians will perform in this part.
Earnings from concerts will be spent on ‘The Encyclopedia for Young People,’ a project co-founded by Mirhadi and under completion by Children’s Book Council of Iran.
