Boxing Inspires

‘The Eliminated’ is the latest exhibit by painter Ali Zakeri, 58, underway at Homa Art Gallery. It opened August 25 and will run through September 5. Visiting hours are from 11 am-7 pm. On display are a series of paintings depicting boxing matches, Tandis online visual art magazine reported. Watching the brutal fights on TV, Zakeri contemplates a struggle beyond the ring: “We fight to avoid being eliminated. Winner or loser, we see painting as an arena for survival and self-expression. Thus we fight without making someone else ruled out.”  Homa Art Gallery is located at No. 8, West 4th Alley, Sanaee Street, Karim Khan Blvd.
