Mugam Pieces

Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) will host a concert of classical and ethnic Iranian music. At the concert slated for August 25, the traditional ensemble of Cherikeh from Kurdistan Province will perform compositions in the modal system of mugam, according to Tiwall. The concert starts at 9 pm and will run for two hours. Pieces to be performed are composed and arranged by the leader of the ensemble Seyed Salman Hosseini and band member Mohammad Reza Barzin. Hosseini plays setar and tanbur. Barzin plays setar. Other members include Arya and Vesal Hosseini on tanbur, Behvash Kazemizadeh on kamancheh, Sepehr Bahrai on santur, singer Hamed Tamadon and Anahita Nasirian on oud.
