‘Stones in His Pockets,’ a two-hander comedy written in 1996 by Irish actress and playwright Marie Jones is underway at Fanous Theater in Tehran. The 100-minute play is translated by Hamid Ehya and co-directed by Farhad Heydari and Hamed Qasemi. It opened August 8 and will run through August 25, starting at 7 pm, Tiwall reported. Thespians are Hamed Qasemi and Farhad Heydari who play the roles of Charlie and Jake, two friends employed as extras on a Hollywood film, like many other townspeople. The comedy turns into tragedy when a local teenager commits suicide, by drowning himself with stones in his pockets, after he is humiliated by one of the film stars.
