Pakistan is set to establish a National Broadcasting and Film Commission for the revival of its film industry and would like to seek Iranian assistance for making the new body effective and vibrant.
According to thenews.com.pk, this was announced by Pakistan’s Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb in her meeting the Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost on Tuesday.
Aurangzeb said Pakistan values its relations with Iran and added that the common religious and cultural values and national heritage could be leveraged to boost people to people relations.
Assuring his full support to the minister for the establishment of National Broadcasting and Film Commission, Honardoost said Iran is willing to promote cultural ties with Pakistan and make the partnership more productive in the interest of the two peoples.
The minister said that Pakistan welcomes any initiative by the Iranian government for further expansion in the cultural exchanges and will take the possible steps to introduce the culture of one country to the other. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations by increasing cooperation and collaboration particularly in the field of media, culture and Information.
