Renowned musician, composer and conductor Majid Entezami, 69, was honored at a ceremony in Tehran at the Art Bureau (Hozeh-Honari), August 15.

A large group of artists, cineastes and cultural officials attended. Several guests  talked about Entezami’s 40 years of endeavors in the field of music to promote this area of art, Mehr News Agency reported.

At the end of the program, the documentary ‘Oboist’ was shown which is about Entezami’s life; the film title refers to him since he also is a player of oboe, a woodwind instrument of treble pitch.

Entezami has made over 80 films. His major memorable works include the soundtracks for ‘Train’ (1988), ‘From Karkheh to Rhein’ (1992), ‘Scent of Yousef’s Shirt’ (1995), ‘The Glass Agency’ (1999) and ‘Duel’ (2004) among others. He has won four Crystal Simorgh Awards for the best score at Fajr Film Festival.

He is the son of the acclaimed film actor Ezzatollah Entezami, 93.
