The Iranian Academy of Arts, affiliated to the presidential office, will hold the first expert meeting on silk embroidery today, July 26, at its premises in Tehran.
Organized by the academy’s research department, the two-hour meeting starts at 3 pm for a review and debate on ‘Turkmen Silk Embroidery.’
The meeting includes two lectures by renowned figures, according to the website of the academy honar.ac.ir.
Researcher in traditional Iranian sewing Shahin Pezeshki who is prominent in the craft, is one of the speakers.
The other is art researcher and designer of traditional motifs Ali Reza Barforoushan who conducts research for Irans’ Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO).
The program venue is the conference hall of the academy located at No. 1552, 3rd floor, intersection of Valiasr Ave. and Taleqani Street.
The meeting is open to the public.
