The folk band ‘Dang Show’ will release its new album, ‘Madd o Nay’ (Flow and Ney) on August 1.

In the upcoming album, the founders of the band, Taha Parsa and Reza Shaya, along with other members, have shifted their focus on electronic music, Mehr News Agency quoted Hamid Khosrobeygi, program manager of the band, as saying.

“Dang Show members have collaborated with a number of guest musicians to create the album,” Khosrobeygi said. “Considering the new contents of the album, which are different from previous works, fans will witness one of the most outstanding albums in recent years.”

After the release of ‘Madd o Nay,’ it’s unveiling ceremony is to be held on August 4. “We’ve planned for follow-up concerts in Tehran and other provinces. The concerts in Isfahan, Shiraz and Babolsar are already finalized”.

As for Tehran events, “the band prefers to perform outdoor. But I cannot say more because outdoor concerts need certain equipment and provisions that are yet to be discussed,” Khosrobeygi added.

The latest concerts of Dang Show were staged July 11 and 14 at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall. The last two performances “served as the band’s farewell to its old compositions,” Khosrobeygi said and spoke of a new piece by the band to be published online soon.

Dang Show was established in 2007. Reza and Taha have amalgamated piano and saxophone into Iranian music and founded a special niche.
