507 Bookshops in Summer Discount Sale Program

A total of 507 bookshops have so far participated at Summer Book Sale, a national program organized by the Book House Institute.
As expected, Tehran Province has had the highest number of stores in the program with 89 bookshops. Qom comes next with 66 bookstores, followed by Khorasan Razavi where there are 54 stores. The same number of stores exists in Isfahan Province while there are 24 stores in the province of Kurdistan.
More bookshops are joining the discount program. Application should be sent by July 21, ISNA reported.
Book enthusiasts can refer to the member stores and get a 20% discount for adult books and 25% for children’s books.
Summer Book Sale will run through the end of the season. More information is available at the website of the Book House Institute (ketab.ir).
The last such sale organized by the institute was during Norouz (Persian New Year) Book from March 5 to April 4. With the slogan “Let’s Give Book as a New Year Gift”, the program was conducted as a campaign in which people including literati and artists, were encouraged to give books, instead of cash and other presents, as New Year gifts to near and dear ones.
Norouz Book Sale was preceded by Autumn Sale in 2016 that covered 624 bookstores and sold an estimated 659,000 books to 209,000 plus customers.
