Sa’dabad Cultural Complex in Tehran is hosting an exhibition ‘Exclusive Handicrafts’ made by artisans in the country.
Organized under the auspices of the Office for Handicrafts and Traditional Arts at Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), the exhibit opened on June 17 and will run through June 24.
According to asrenamayeshgah.com, a local website on expos, the exhibit features 160 handicrafts by 80 artisans specializing in assorted fields.
The featured artworks are categorized into 30 fields and 14 provinces are participating in the event. Isfahan has made the largest contribution, in particular the county of Shahreza.
‘Exclusiveness’ is an idea recently introduced and promoted by the Office for Handicrafts and Traditional Arts, based on which handicraft can be turned into unique monuments, special gifts or manifestations of certain concepts and meanings, while maintaining their traditional value.
Artisans can mark their own life experiences on the artifacts through a combination of their art and skill.
Visiting hours are from 9 am-6 pm. Sa’dabad Cultural Complex is located north of Tajrish Square.
