Avant-garde artist Rana Dehqan has presented her freakish art titled ‘Punishment’ at Tehran’s Delgosha Art Gallery.

The exhibit is a mishmash of things one sees or uses every day in life. The works are arranged next to one another, hung on walls or pasted together to form conceptual compositions, digital arts, photo collages and sculptures in a weird way, according to Tandis (tandismag.com), a local online magazine on visual art.

It seems to be “an introspection” of the artist. She has left her characteristic trace on the works. The artifacts tell a new story. Having lost their decorative function, the furniture, ornaments and sculptures are transcended to a surreal layer in her art.

The exhibit opened on May 26 and will run through June 29, every day except Saturdays. The gallery is located at No. 30, Mohajer Alley, Iranshahr Street, Karim Khan Blvd. Visiting hours are from noon till 8 pm.
