Association of Iranian Painters in Tehran has created “a 360-degree virtual tour” of an online display of paintings featured at the fifth edition of its ‘Research Expo’ series.

The association’s research expos are periodical events hosted by the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) to showcase works of the association members. The first four editions were held between June 2016 and February 2017, and introduced paintings by members below 40 years of age.

A total of 187 artists participated in the first four rounds bringing along 1,011 paintings. However, the fifth and latest edition, held May 12-25, showcased paintings by senior members, Mehr News Agency reported. Forty-four senior painters participated in the expo, including renowned figures Mehdi Hosseini, 74, and Akbar Nikanpour, 61, both recipients of the First Degree Art Certificate from the Evaluation Council of the Culture Ministry.

For enthusiasts who could not visit the latest edition, the paintings can be visited in virtual space at the website expo.onlineartgallery.ir. The website shows the paintings displayed in the 5th series at the six different galleries of IAF: Momayez, Mirmiran and the halls named after the four seasons.

By clicking each gallery, the user will be placed at the center of the venue. The rotating hall shows the paintings on the surrounding walls. Each painting can be magnified.

The online gallery was launched on May 26 and will be in place till June 26.
