The 30th International Film Festival for Children and Youth is slated for June 30-July 6 in the tourist city of Isfahan.
Secretary and director of the festival is film producer and festival manager Alireza Rezadad, 58. At the unveiling ceremony of the festival poster, on May 23, he spoke of new sections at the event.
“An independent, competitive section for animated films has been added this year. Among other changes is the separation of films for children and young adults,” Rezazad was quoted as saying on the festival website (icff.ir).
The festival is jointly organized by the Farabi Cinema Foundation, Municipality of Isfahan and Iran Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs.
The section for children is to be competitive. The young adults section is non-competitive and will include only a review of the works.
“Most schools have summer holidays and we can make arrangements for school students to attend the festival, as part of their summer programs,” Rezazad said.
There were no details on the number of countries attending the upcoming festival. The previous edition took place in the city of Hamedan where filmmakers from over 30 countries including China, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, India and Brazil attended.
