Persian Folk Concert in Germany

Avaye Rood ensemble from Tehran will perform an exclusive concert at Rudolf-Oetker-Halle in the city of Bielefeld, Germany on May 27.

The concert will perform folk and traditional Persian songs and pieces, such as ‘Morgh-e-Sahar’ (Dawn Bird), composed by tar player, composer and arranger Morteza Neydavoud (1900-1990), with lyrics written by poet, scholar, journalist and historian Mohammad Taqi Bahar (1884-1951).

‘Peyda va Penhan’ (Seen and Unseen) and ‘Leyla Daro Vakon’ (Leyla, Open the Door) are among other pieces to be rendered by the ensemble, Mehr News Agency reported.

The pieces are to be sung by traditional singer Mehdi Tafakori, 39. The ensemble is led by composer Behzad Ansari who plays oud at the concert. Arrangement is by composer Chavosh Eskandari who plays tar. Nazanin Bazargani is on tonbak (goblet drum) and bendir (large hand frame drum), and Pegah Kheyrdoush plays kamanche, the spike fiddle.
