Two architecture masters Siavash Teimouri and Morteza Sedigh were honored on Friday at a ceremony that also saw the opening of a sketch exhibition by Samira Kazemi at Barsam Art Gallery in Tehran.

Titled ‘Homeland Earth’, the exhibit is held under the supervision of Sedigh, designer and professor of architecture, Iranart.ir reported.

The celebrated architect Teimouri, 80, was born in Tehran. After completing his studies at the University of Tehran’s Art and Architectural School, he moved to France to complete his PhD in architecture.

Aside from his activities in academia, Teimouri has made several noteworthy contributions in the realm of architectural design. He has designed and overseen the execution of more than 150 architectural projects. He is recipient of the French Association of Architects prize.

Teimouri’s artistic endeavors go beyond architecture. An avid calligrapher he has also penned several books on mysticism.

Sedigh, 41, holds a PhD in architecture from Iran University of Science and Technology. He has taught at several universities in Iran, penned over 60 titles in the field of architecture, published more than 17 scientific articles in international journals and received over 21 honorary diplomas from various national events.

In the ‘Homeland Earth’, 58 pieces are on display including innovative designs on paper towels, detergents and matchsticks among others.

Enthusiasts can visit the works until May 19 at the gallery located at No. 22, Parastoo St., after Zartosht St., Vali-e-Asr Ave.
