‘Kupal,’ an environmental feature film by director and writer Kazem Mollai will be presented at the 6th edition of Iran International Green Film Festival (IIGFF), slated for July 22-28 in Tehran.

The film is about a taxidermist hunter, named Ahmad Kupal who, just before the turn of the New Year, experiences an unfortunate incident, Young Journalists Club (YJC) reported.

“You cannot be alone in the world,” Mollai, 36, says giving a clue to the philosophical origin of the film. He refers to a verse by Iranian poet, translator and writer Rasoul Yunan, 48: “The world is a strange place. Here, whoever shoots is the one who gets killed.”

Cast members are Levon Haftvan, Nazanin Farahani, Pouria Rahimi Sam, Hossein Shamsabadi, Vahan Salimzadeh, Mojtaba Alizadeh, Mitra Asiaee and Hossein Ghayebi Shabahang. Also starring in a key role is a smart dog named Sharon.

Iran International Green Film Festival was founded in 1999. It recognizes, introduces and awards the best national and international films on the environment and natural resources with the aim of increasing public awareness and sensitivity to the subjects.

The festival presents cash awards for the winning films in fiction, documentary, animation and thematic sections.
