A photo contest, parallel to the ongoing 8th Tehran International Sculpture Symposium, has been organized by the Tehran Beautification Organization (TBO).

With 29 sculptors participating from Iran and 13 countries, the sculpture symposium is underway at the iconic Milad Tower.

The symposium opened on April 21 and will run through May 14, though the sculpting workshop at the foot of the tower will close on May 13, ISNA reported.

To further promote the event, TBO planned the photo contest, inviting professional photographers to take pictures during the process of creation of the works. The contest is also open to others who want to try their hand in documentation of the sculpting process.

Enthusiasts can visit the workshop to photograph the event. A dusty environment can be expected, mainly due to the chiseling work with modern chiseling tools of travertine, a form of limestone, provided as the main sculpting material. Photographers are recommended to use dust-proof covers for their cameras.

Milad Tower is accessible from either of the two expressways Hemmat and Hakim.

Photography of the symposium workshop started on April 30 and participants can take pictures until May 12, a day prior to its conclusion. Ten photographs can be submitted by each participant.

There are two sections at the photo contest: general and professional based on the device used for photography. If the photos are taken with mobiles or simply cameras, they will be placed in the general section, and if advanced cameras are used, the photos will enter the latter section.

More information is available at www.zibasazi.ir, the website of TBO.
