Tamashagan, a private cultural organization, will open its children’s theater institute in Tehran on Friday.

Established in 2015, it specializes in children and young adult theater, and has been authorized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to operate in the field of education and production of theater for children and young adults.

It was due to the efforts of Tamashagan that World Theater Day (WTD) was introduced on the national calendar last year, ILNA reported. Celebrated on March 27, WTD was initiated in 1961 by the International Theater Institute.

Tamashagan is managed by theater director and actor, playwright and puppeteer Hamed Zahmatkesh, 37. In 2008, he founded Arghanoun, the first private company producing children’s theater, but for some reasons, it was not productive and was wound up.

Starting at 5 pm, the opening ceremony will be held at the studio of Pich Plateau, located at No. 10, Oskou St., near Vesal St., Enqelab Ave.
