‘Servant,’ an Iranian animation directed by animation maker and screenwriter Farnoush Abedi, 32, has reached the lineup for the 2017 Cortoons Gandia festival in Spain.

Cortoons Gandia is an international animated film festival held in the city of Gandia in eastern Spain. The festival is slated for April 27-30. ‘Servant’ will participate in the international short films section.

In February it won the best short animation award at the London Independent Film Festival (LIFF), Mehr News Agency reported.

The animation is a story of master and servant. A giant cockroach serves a man until it starts to realize that it deserves better. The roach thus tries to turn the table and change the rules of the game in its own favor. The man, however, tries to preserve the status quo but soon finds out that the game has actually no rule.

Abedi has written, directed and produced the animation. Her work also won the Best Animation Award at the 33rd Tehran International Short Film Festival last November.
