Twelve films from 12 Asian and Islamic countries have reached the lineup for the Eastern Vista section at the upcoming Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF).
The 35th FIFF will be held from April 21-28 in Tehran where a total of 53 international film companies will present their productions. The secretary of the event is screenwriter and film director Reza Mirkarimi, 51.
The Eastern Vista section is a ‘panorama of films from Asian and Islamic countries,’ and the 12 films to be screened are from China, Japan, Turkey, India, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Bangladesh, Singapore, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Afghanistan and Jordan, IRNA reported.
To qualify for the section, the films should not be screened earlier in their respective countries. Three Silver Simorgh statues will be presented to the best feature film, the best short film and the best Asian director in this section.
The top prize of the festival is the Golden Simorgh statue which is given to the best film in the competition section of the event.
