The short animation ‘The Shadow which Turned Into Light’ directed by Nazanin Sobhan Sarbandi is competing at the main competition section of Montreal International Children’s Film Festival (FIFEM) in Canada.

The short piece is Sarbandi’s latest production which tells the story of the shadow of a puppeteer which realizes that it is no longer interested in following him, Mehr News Agency reported.

It will compete with titles from Belgium, France, Brazil, New Zealand, Canada, Switzerland and Spain.

FIFEM aims to promote quality films from around the world to 2 to 12 year-old audiences and their family members. The festival offers over 100 of the best movies for children across the globe. It offers fiction, documentary, animation, feature and short films as well as film education workshops and meetings with guests.

The 20th edition of the festival which opened on March 4 will run until March 12.
