A joint concert by Parvaz Homay and Alim Qasimov, ‘Two Mad Men in a Flurry’ (in Persian: ‘Janjale Do Divaneh) is slated for March 9 in Tehran.
Accompanied by his ensemble, Azerbaijani musician Alim Hamza Oglu Qasimov, 60, one of the foremost mugham singers in his country and elsewhere, will join Iranian composer, lyricist and vocalist Parvaz Homay, 37, on stage at the Grand Hall of the Ministry of Interior.
Avaye Honar Institute of Music, based in Karaj, Alborz Province, is organizing the concert that will be Homay’s latest experience with foreign vocalists, Mehr News Agency reported.
In recent years, Parvaz Homay, also know by his birth name Saeed Jafarzadeh, has sought to create a fusion of different music styles from across the world in his concerts. His joint concerts include those with Iranian-American composer, conductor, violinist and pianist Shahrdad Rouhani and with Italian composer and cellist Maestro Enrico Gerola.
Homay’s ensemble Mastan will accompany him at the event. The selection, translation, composition and arrangement of the repertoire took two years.
The venue is located in Fatemi Square.
