University of Bologna to Study Iran, Italy Literature
University of Bologna to Study Iran, Italy Literature

Iran and Italy will hold a literature conference slated for March 2 and 3 in Rome, to analyze and investigate the literary and aesthetic components in the their two cultures.

Originally referred to as ‘La affinita imperfette’ (imperfect affinity), the conference will host 16 outstanding literary figures who will speak on the comparative analyses of Iran and Italy literature and literary works at the University of Bologna.

On the opening day, Prof. Roberto Vecchi, director of department of modern languages and cultures, and Akbar Qoli, Iranian cultural attaché to Rome, will deliver the welcoming address.

According to ISNA, Ali Asghar Mohammadkhani from Book City Institute and Nasrin Faqih Malek Marzban from Alzahra University of Tehran and Nahid Norozi and Faezeh Mardani from the University of Bologna are the Iranian scholars who will deliver their lectures to the audience along with their Italian counterparts Carlo Saccone, Gian Pietro Basello, Simone Cristoforetti, Raffaele Milani, Adone Brandalise, Alessando Grossato and others.

According to the Bologna University website, works of renowned Iranian writers and poets, Ferdowsi (940–1020), Aboutorab Khosravi and Forough Farrokhzad (1935-1967), and various Persian poetry and literature styles will be debated.

The event, the third of its kind, is co-organized by the department of history, culture and civilization at the University of Bologna, Iran’s Book City Institute, Iran Cultural Fairs Institute and the Iranian Embassy in Rome.
