Popular Iranian singer Shahin Arian, vocalist of Ravaee Concert ensemble, says his group will give “a performance with a difference” on March 9 in Tehran.

“The concert will feature an innovative performance of pop music,” at Vahdat Hall, located on Shahryar Blvd, Hafez Avenue, IRNA quoted Arian as saying on Monday.

The orchestra of 32 musicians will be conducted by composer, arranger and singer Farbod Yazdanfar.

“We will perform 20 compositions in various themes, mostly romantic and patriotic, including a number of pieces I’ve performed on various occasions during the past 15 years,” Arian added.

His upcoming concert includes a selection of the most popular songs in his 2012 album ‘Penumbra.’ For naming the album, Arian had requested his fans to send him their choice of titles, and one of them came up with ‘Sayeh-Roshan’ which in Persian means penumbra.

Arian referred to the vast variety of music preferences in Iran and said: “Presently, most of the concerts staged follow a similar style and pattern. I respect all preferences, but the concerts are more or less the same. The only difference is in the performers.”

Arian’s first concert was held in May 2013 at Milad Hall of Tehran Permanent Fairground.

“In the upcoming program, we will try to create a unique atmosphere for the audiences. The concert will use classical instruments as against electronic equipment which is dominant in current concerts,” he said.

The concert starts at 7 pm and it is his first performance with classical instruments.

Tickets are available online at exirconcert.com, the website of the sponsoring agency Exir Novin, headed by Mohammad Reza Khanzadeh.
