The second National Conference on Books and Publishing is to be held on February 12 in Tehran.

It is organized by Hekmat Cultural Jihad Institute under the joint auspices of Civilica, a publishing house in Tehran that also specializes in conferences, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Tehran Book Garden.

Beh-Nashr, the publication house of Astan Quds Razavi, an autonomous charitable foundation based in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province, is collaborating in the event with Hekmat Institute, IBNA reported.

The conference will focus on marketing, advertisement and public relations in the publishing industry. The education system and ways to promote book reading culture will also be discussed. Additionally, the role of families in encouraging book reading among children will be highlighted, as also that of teachers, trainers and librarians.

The event will seek solutions, localized strategies and plans in promotion of book reading culture.    Articles presented at the meet will be uploaded on the website of Civilica (civilica.com) and the Iranian Consortium of National Content (icnc.ir).

The Tehran-based consortium is a collection of libraries and organizations possessing data sources such as books, publications, manuscripts, photos, audios and films. It was founded in 2008 to provide researchers with accessible contents.

The first National Conference on Books and Publishing was held in November  2015 in Tehran.
