The 34th edition of the National Award for the Book of the Year will conclude on Tuesday in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani.
Selected books will be announced and writers will be commended at a ceremony at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.
The ceremony starts at 7:30 pm to officially declare the books selected by the juries in three successive stages, according to the website of the event, ketabsal.ir.
For each field of study, three books will be selected, namely science, technical knowledge, social and human sciences, education, pedagogy and literature.
The call for submissions for the 34th edition was made in spring last year and August 20 was the deadline to participate in the major book award event.
Books published for the first time in the previous fiscal year that ended in March 2016, were eligible for the award.
