The Gemstones Permanent Museum, Exhibition and Store opened at Khorasan Grand Museum in Mashhad, capital of Khorasan Razavi Province.
The inauguration ceremony was held on February 1 in the presence of Zahra Ahmadipour, the head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, ISNA reported.
After visiting the exhibition, Ahmadipour pointed to the importance of gemstone works and emphasized the need to support gemstone art as a valuable sector of handicrafts which play an important role in the country’s economy and export market.
The museum has been established by private investors with support from the Khorasan Razavi Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism General Office.
