Actor Hassan Joharchi Dies

Iranian TV and cinema actor Hassan Joharchi passed away on Friday, February 3, in Tehran at the age of 48.

Due to liver complications, the actor was admitted to the ICU of Imam Khomeini Hospital but died of serious lung infection and low blood pressure, Young Journalists Club (YJC) reported.

Born in Tehran in 1968 in a family of Azari origin, he had a bachelor’s degree in photography from Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, and started his acting career in 1988 in cinema with ‘The Elephant in the Dark’

He rose to popularity after playing one of the lead roles in the TV series ‘Under Your Protection’ in 1995. 

His most notable performances was in the movies ‘Bitter Almonds’ (1998), ‘Beyond Danger’ (1996), ‘Soltan’ (1996), ‘The Gathering’ (1995) and ‘Lethal’ (1995) as well as the TV series ‘She Was an Angel’ (2005).

Joharchi last appeared in the series ‘We Shall Relax’ which is currently being broadcast every night from IRIB channel 2.
