The 2017 Bologna Children Book Fair, to be held April 3-6 in Bologna in northern Italy, will feature the works of four Iranian illustrators among other participants.

Graphic designer, art director and illustrator Farshid Shafiee, 69, as well as illustrators Hassan Amekan, 37, and Narges Mohammadi, 39, have been selected for the upcoming edition of the four-day event to be held at the Bologna Fair Center, where the latest market trends in the children’s book industry will be tracked, IBNA reported.

The selection board of the 54th Bologna Children Book Fair has also chosen a book published by Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA), based in Tehran. Titled ‘The Bird, the Boy and the Train,’ the children’s book is written by celebrated Iranian poet and writer Ahmad Reza Ahmadi, 76, and illustrated by graphic designer, painter, animator and illustrator Rashin Kheyrieh, 38.

The book tells the story of a boy whose bird has flown away through the window of a train in which he is traveling, and the boy’s search to find his pet.
